How Do You Speed Up Torrent Downloads?

If you are downloading a movie from thepiratebay.org using your torrent client, it will normally take days to finish it. This is true if you have very slow connection and if there are not enough seeders. Seeders are those that seed (obviously) the download usually for days. Instead of simply downloading the file, they would seed it so that others can get the file or program quickly. The opposite is a leecher which I normally become to speed up my download.

So how do you do this? First is to make sure your torrent client is open. Then, right click on your download. Point to Bandwidth Allocation and select HIGH.

After that, right click on your download again. Point to Bandwidth Allocation again and go to SET DOWNLOAD LIMIT. Make sure it is set to UNLIMITED

Next, go to Set Upload Limit below Set Download Limit. This time, make sure it is at 1 kb/s

And that's it. Your download will be faster, you LEECH! LOL

Another thing to note is that like what I have mentioned, the file that you may be downloading does not have enough seeders. It is always recommended that you choose a file that has many seeders. The more seeders, the faster the download.

In thepiratebay.org, click on SE to sort the results by the number of seeders.

As you can see, the one with the highest number of seeders will place at the top.

Tip: Even though a file has thousands of seeders, your connection still plays a role in the speed of the download. Beware of downloads that come from Anonymous uploaders which have thousands of seeders. Not only did you waste your time waiting for the download to finish but you may also get a virus when you open the file. Look at this:

This has 13000+++ seeders. It's impossible for it to acquire such huge number of seeders when it was just uploaded 54 minutes ago. To make sure that you are downloading the right thing, always check the comments. If there are no comments and yet the file has thousands of seeders, you can bet it is fake.

Have fun downloading!
